On Saturday, I had a pretty relaxed day. Although I didn't plan to take the day off, I realized that I needed to take care of myself. It's important to note that we don't always anticipate when we need self-care, but we should prioritize it nonetheless. Whenever we come across an experience that forces us to take care of ourselves physically, mentally, emotionally, or spiritually ➡️ our body, mind, and spirit respond accordingly.
Self-care should be our highest priority because our physical and emotional well-being affects our entire day. If we're not in optimal health or mood, it can shift our entire day. This is exactly what happened to me. My entire day was impacted because I didn't prioritize self-care earlier. Therefore, it's important to observe the decisions we make each day. Are we making those decisions because of reasons that do not align with self-care, or are we prioritizing self-care?
If we don't prioritize self-care when it's necessary, it can shift our day and cause us to be in a bad mood. Hence, we must be aware of our moods and identify whether they're a result of not aligning our decisions with self-care. Reflecting on our thoughts is essential because our thoughts shape our actions and behaviors. By reflecting on our thoughts, we can become more self-aware and make better decisions that prioritize our well-being. I'm grateful for the lesson I learned on Saturday, and I hope to prioritize self-care more in the future.
