Tools for Finding Purpose: Gratitude, Small Goals, and Self-Care

I feel thankful every day for the chance to earn a living and create positive change in my life. Occasionally, it can be difficult to transition from a negative frame of mind to a more positive one, particularly when I'm grappling with intense thoughts and emotions that interfere with my ability to stay focused on my goals. Nonetheless, I've learned how to surmount these challenges by grounding myself in the present moment. Below are some methods I've written down to help me ground myself:

1. Mindful Breathing: Take a few deep breaths and focus your attention on your breath. Notice the sensation of the air moving in and out of your body. This can help you feel more calm and centered.

2. Body Scan: Close your eyes and scan your body from head to toe. Notice any areas of tension or discomfort, and send your breath to those areas to help release the tension.

3. Grounding Exercise: Sit or stand with your feet flat on the ground. Imagine roots growing out of the bottom of your feet, connecting you to the earth. Visualize the earth's energy flowing up through your roots and into your body to help you feel more grounded.

4. Mindful Observation: Take a few moments to observe your surroundings. Notice the colors, shapes, and textures of the objects around you. This can help you bring your attention to the present moment and out of your thoughts.

5. Gratitude Practice: Take a few moments to reflect on things in your life that you are grateful for. This can help shift your focus away from negative thoughts and emotions and help you feel more centered and positive.

When I used to be depressed many times in the past, I lacked the tools to overcome it. Now, I have various tools and techniques to help me minimize depression which helps me stay on track with my goals. I make sure to eat a balanced diet with protein and healthy fats like butter, which helps alleviate my depression. I also practice what I termed "high-frequency meditation" (which is likened to be a type of kundalini meditation), exercise, and utilize other techniques that work for me to stay in alignment with my purpose.

While I may not have a clear understanding of my ultimate life purposes, I do recognize that I have smaller goals that I can work towards each day. Pursuing these auxiliary goals allows me to gain clarity and insight into my larger purposes. I appreciate the realization that focusing on these immediate objectives is practical at this point in my life. This mindset helps me to find contentment in my current circumstances and work towards fulfilling my ultimate life purposes.

Embracing Gratitude, Rest, and Receptiveness in Life's Design

I am grateful for the opportunity to stay home and rest, even though I understand the importance of working to earn money. Rest is a fundamental aspect that I always need to take into consideration. I appreciate the alignment of the universe in my favor, recognizing that there are no coincidences or accidents—everything happens for a reason. It's essential for me to be aware of the need to work consciously, despite the financial limitations that may arise from not being able to work. I trust that this is all part of a greater plan, as there are no lasting consequences. I wholeheartedly embrace this understanding. It reminds me of Tyler Henry, who receives messages from the deceased while in a state of receptiveness. Similarly, I strive to be open to receiving everything that comes my way or the experiences I encounter because I know it allows me to embrace life more fully. It creates a supportive space for me to explore and expand my potential.

Lessons from Two Spider Dreams: Overcoming Preconceived Notions to Embrace Reality

I had two dreams about a spider recently. In the first dream, I opened my closet and thought I saw a spider, but when I looked for it, it couldn't be found. Instead I thought I saw its shadow on my shoulder, but after taking a second look, the credibility of it being the shadow of a spider was insufficient. In the second dream, I woke up from the dream and went to the restroom. On the side of the toilet, I saw a large gray spider, but it didn't seem aggressive. Rather, it looked as though I startled it. I'm not sure what these dreams were trying to tell me, but I can take away a lesson from them which is that, sometimes, things that appear scary may not actually be scary. Our subconscious programming can cause us to project our fears onto things that are objectively harmless. If we can set our programming aside and embrace what's in front of us, we can begin to see more clearly and face reality head-on. To truly own our reality, we must get over our preconce...

The Importance of Checking In with Yourself: Aligning with Your Authenticity and Values

Recently, someone asked me to do something for them, but I felt uncomfortable doing it because it didn't align with my conscience. I decided to be honest with him and told him how I felt. Fortunately, he respected my decision, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to have checked in with myself and was authentic about my feelings.  It's important to have experiences like this where we evaluate ourselves and our values in relation to something or someone else. These experiences help us confirm our authenticity towards them and ensure that we're aligning with our true selves. Checking in with ourselves is a practice that we should exercise every day because it allows us to ask whether our actions align with our authenticity. I'm thankful for experiences like this because they remind me of the importance of aligning with my values. Our values are a reflection of who we are as individuals, and it's important to be true to ourselves in all that we do.
